Tomorrow we have to vote. Get to choose what will be the Rector of the Universidad Pública de Nravarra for the next four years.
Unlike the above, all previous ones since I came to the UPNA for almost 18 years, these elections have been completely marginalized. Even while no one has asked me to vote.
The campaign has been of such discretion and elegance that have been published photos seemed more a story of weddings electoral campaign photos. There were more campaign posters alternative "anti" of Eraldatu (in which they proposed as Rector Ruiz Mateos) that the two candidates together.
We have become cryptogams ! Everyone is avoiding the conversation, if ultimately we can not avoid very weighted institutional trials that do not allow the vote to discover the meaning of the coterie. The manifestos are full of desire for progress, dialogue and participation. I personally miss concrete proposals and explicit definitions of the university model that everyone seeks. Newspapers (local) and rumors identify candidates with policy positions, with matches even in a display of over-simplification.
I'd like to hear someone say, I closed the campus of Tudela, reconfigured the map of modern proposals qualifications (such as a degree in Nanoscience) and dual degrees. Reorganize the rules of academic organization on the EHEA simplifying the maximum (for example by reducing the types of courses). Prohibit the movement of motor vehicles inside the campus and would bicycle parking in all buildings. Limited parking on campus to the university community. Work to eliminate the bad atmosphere between PAS and PDI (doing more jobs near each other, creating joint working groups to improve procedures and so on.). Limit the inspection functions of PDI (even eliminate) and instead recover effective procedures for evaluating the quality of teaching. Etc. etc..
I have not read anything in this direction. But there is one candidate who has been Rector and his management has not aimed in that direction ... Ops, I'm going phanerogamous, heavens!
